Outreach

As a member of the Outreach team, you are often the first person a prospective student meets on campus. Your overall commitment is 2-3 hours a week, with 1-2 day visits during each semester. Here are some brief descriptions of the different roles:

  • Day Visit Hosts – You are matched with a prospective student (at least three times a semester) who has something in common with you, such as an academic or extracurricular interest, same hometown or high school, etc. Your guest will arrive at campus in the morning, and you’ll guide them around campus, eating in Kimball, attending classes, sitting in on club meetings, etc., before they depart in the afternoon.
  • Greeters – As the first point of contact for visitors to the College, you’ll assist the Admissions Office by providing a friendly face and answering any questions that visitors may have prior to taking a tour, information session, or admission interview. You are expected to spend approximately 1-2 hours/week in our office speaking with visitors.

For more information on how to become a part of the Outreach team, please contact Elisabeth Villa.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Admission Interns

DEI Admission Interns play an integral role in fostering relationships with the community and external partners (schools and community-based organizations) to foster a more inclusive and diverse 51С»Æ³µ community. DEI Admission interns plan outreach to prospective students, including but not limited to webinars, group visits, and overnight programs. There is also an expectation that interns may give presentations to prospective students and families and attend high school visits in the Worcester area. The DEI Admission Intern is a paid position with an average of 6 hours per week. DEI Admission Interns are permitted to intern in the office for more than one year. Interns are hired when there is a vacancy due to graduation or pursuit of another opportunity.

For more information on how to apply for the DEI Admission Intern position, please contact Cortney Lima.

Tour Guides

As a tour guide, you’ll give tours of campus to prospective students, parents and school groups throughout the academic year. We’re looking for academically successful students who are actively involved on campus and excited about sharing their love of the school with prospective students and their families.

To be considered, you need to have been on campus for at least two semesters and will undergo an application process that includes a group interview with members of the Admissions staff. If selected, you’ll be required to give a weekly tour and volunteer during some weekends for Saturday tours and Admissions Open Houses.

For more information on how to apply to the Tour Guide program, please contact Liza Goodman.

Senior Admission Fellows

Each year, we select an exclusive group of academically successful and involved seniors who interview prospective students throughout the fall semester, getting hands-on experience in Admissions by helping to craft the incoming class.

Interested seniors need to submit a resume and cover letter, and select students will be chosen for an interview. Current 51С»Æ³µ juniors may apply in March, and will be notified in early May.

*Separate interviews will be conducted for those students who are abroad or away during spring of their junior year.
